Earlier this week news came out that Target was selling a new Indie game and t-shirt combo. The t-shirt displayed an image of the game and the game came attached to the shirt. People who purchased the combo could bring it home and play it on their PC. Only a few days later, Target announced they will be pulling this product off the shelves because they are not selling as much as they anticipated. Apparently, they felt there wasn't as much of a buzz for them and wanted to replace it with something, which would bring in more profits. It's not like any of them sold because there was a lot of talk among gamers about how great it was to be able to try out new games for such an inexpensive price.
Boing Boing reports the distributors would like to try selling the shirts in other stores. They hope the shirts may be better suited for the people who shop at stores such as Urban Outfitters and Hot Topic. They are taking a wait and see approach with this and hope these stores will have better luck.
