What if you could take an old t-shirt that you used to exercise or clean the house in and turn it into a hundred dollars? It would be great wouldn't it? Read on to find out how one wife did just that.
Jennifer Cseplo from Dublin Ohio sold a Bear Sterns t-shirts on eBay Monday night for $151.76. This shirt was her husband's workout shirt, which he received as a present a few years ago. Cseplo thought she would only sell it for around $20 and was pleasantly surprised with the ending bid. The high bid is a result of JPMorgan and Chase & Co buying out Bear Stearns instead of them going bankrupt. Now, everyone is gathering all items Bear Stearns to auction off online before they are useless.
Reuters reports the t-shirt sold by Cseplo had 1600 views and a bear dressed up in Bear Stearns attire had 1,400 page views, which sold for $150. These items are selling quickly and for much more than anyone would ever think.
What lesson should you learn from all of this? Even though you may think something is junk, others may find it to be gold sometime down the road. If you have Bear Stearns stuff at home, try out eBay for selling it right now, you might just make a small fortune off it.
