Fairtrade Certified Cotton for Debenhams Clothing

Friday 29th of February 2008 05:23:06 PM

Fairtrade Certified Cotton for Debenhams ClothingJust-Style.com reports that Debenhams and Sir Steve Redgrave who is a former Olympic rower has joined to create a new men's clothing line using Fairtrade certified cotton. You can find this clothing line at one of the 116 Debenhams retail stores in the UK.

Fairtrade cotton is from Mali where cotton pickers are paid good wages and are not placed in unethical work conditions. Knowing where the cotton comes from can help ensure that the company is not supporting sweatshops across the world. This has been a major force recently especially since the investigation on the child labor, unfair wages and deplorable working condition workers must face in underdeveloped countries.

This cotton can be used in making t-shirts, sweatshirts, chinos, and trousers. Now, Debenhams is using it to make their own men's clothing and support farmers in Mali at the same time.
