The Blackpool Gazette reports that people who are buying fake football and rugby t-shirts may be putting themselves in danger. These fake t-shirts have not been tested to the quality of the real football and rugby shirts and this could cause irritation and allergic reactions in some people. This is especially true in people who have sensitive skin to begin with. A textile organisation that tests safety for products has found that many of the shirts have not gone through the vigorous process of being tested for many of the harmful chemicals that go into making the shirts. Shirley Technologies Limited states that all football and rugby shirts are tested for pH values including formaldehyde, carcinogenic, cadmium, chromium, and pesticides. All of these variables are considered when manufacturing apparel and will not be available for sale if these levels are not controlled.
Therefore, if you are buying shirts for sporting events that are not genuine then you may be putting yourself at risk. Not only will it ruin your day at the game it could land you in the hospital if you are sensitive to these chemicals. There is no way to know what exactly is in the fake shirt you buy since it has not be tested, so your best bet is to purchase a true football or rugby shirt so you can have a relaxing and enjoyable time.
