Clothing Launched for Ghana 2008 African Cup of Nations

Ghanabase.com reports that Ultimate Fashions has released the official football paraphernalia for the African Cup of Nations in Ghana next year in Kumasi. You will be able to purchase merchandise such as polo shirts, t-shirts, caps, and other clothing designed in the colors of Africa. These items are especially made for the football event and have been named as the official distributers for the items.

The owners of Ultimate Fashions have made a statement warning people who want to design and manufacture clothing for the African Cup that they must contact Ultimate Fashion for permission. As of now, this is the only manufacturers who are allowed to distribute official Ghana 2008 African Cup of Nations merchandise. If anyone does distribute paraphernalia for the football event they will be prosecuted. If you plan on purchasing any clothing or other items for the event, beware of imitations and only purchase items from authorized dealers.

Nr. Emmanuel Asamoah Owusu-Ansah who is the Ashanti Regional Minister is supporting these restrictions for the official merchandise for the African Cup. He is supporting the purchase of these items by encouraging fans to wear the items instead of traditionally painting their bodies. The minister feels that this would be a better way to show appreciation and support to their team.
