Simon Donohue of Manchester Evening News online recently published a column discussing the latest trends in t-shirts for the shop Harvey Nichols. The merchandise buyer for this menswear shop in Manchester discusses some of the newest items coming to the shop this spring and why being “casual and contemporary” in choosing clothing for the store is what will make people want to buy these t-shirts. Harvey Nichols will continue to offer DIY ethos punk t-shirts just with some updates from past seasons. The most exciting new label that this store will carry is Elvis Jesus. This Manchester based label is expected to be a hit because it brings retro and current fashion together as one by incorporating Anthony Wilson inspired designs into the t-shirts. The Elvis Jesus label focuses on bringing themes from the past into the present because it’s safe. Jumping into a new trend that may not last long may not produce as many profits as taking a past trend and appealing to fans from that era as well as introducing it to a new generation.
Colour is another thing that Gibson considers when purchasing spring clothing for Harvey Nichols. Even though the fashion craze is still favouring white and black, Gibson is bringing in my spring colours like green, yellow and red. Gibson wants the store to be diverse and appeal to a variety of people with different clothing styles.
The store does not just sell t-shirts, but is also carrying Ralph Lauren Polo Shirts. Last year, the store introduced an oversized polo shirts which was a success and in the coming year, the store is going to feature polo-shirts with different flags of Europe. Specifically, the polo shirts will center on sporting nations of Europe.
