The Joy T-Shirt Project is making t-Shirt of real peoples face. The face is not of a celebrity but of a regular person from somewhere in the world. You can Pamela’s face from England or Sara from Algeria. The t-Shirt displays the face of the person in the area that your heart is located to make a statement of how people are kept close to your heart. The project’s slogan is “Wear the World on Your Heart”. These t-shirts are hand-drawn and silk screened by Jeff Woodrow who is the founder of this project. Woodrow would like the project to mean something to people all around the world. When people purchase a shirt and wear this person’s face, it makes them think of that person. This is just what Woodrow would like everyone to do, think of other people. In this society, it is so easy to get caught up in yourself and this forces people to think about others.
When you purchase a t-Shirt, you will be able to upload your own picture to the online catalog. The online catalog features all of the faces available for sale. When an order is placed, Woodrow draws the portrait and prints the t-shirt using custom ink. You can order a t-shirt in five colours: white, cream, lemon yellow, baby pink and light blue. The shirts will be selling for $26 online.
Woodrow is also donating to charity by giving 5% of each sold t-shirt to a different charity each month. All donations will be given to organizations that raise global awareness, assist the underprivileged or strive for peace and equality. Jeff Woodrow wants to make the world a better place through each individual and through charity.
