ABCNews.com reports that an Army captain who is currently deployed in Afghanistan has been training to run in the Philadelphia Marathon to raise money for those military veterans who have been wounded in the line of duty and for the family members of the fallen soldiers. Mike Keilty has been training in the Afghanistan mountains running 70 miles a week to get himself ready for the marathon and has raised $50,000 so far.Mike Keilty recently connected with Take Pride, a t-Shirt company which designs a variety of T-Shirts. Mike Keilty hopes that these T-Shirts will help raise more money to donate to Wounded Warrior Project. This organization helps families and wounded veterans.
The motivation and drive that helps Keilty run is due to his fallen friends, Mike LiCalzi, Ronnie Winchester and Jimmy Regan. He is also running for all the other fallen and wounded because he feels that they have done much more than what he can do by running.
