There have been many advanced in clothing over the years. From T-Shirts that change colours to workout clothing that keeps sweat from collecting on the skin, some of these inventions have become a staple in many wardrobes, while others have remained novelty items. The latest shirt craze includes adding scents such as mint and lemon to the fibres in order to mask odours that people may produce during the day.Italian shirt manufacturer, Tessitura Tainia, who has been in the shirt making business for over seventy years, will debut its line of scented shirts next year. "The concept is to make a shirt that is not only an element for dressing but also of distinction. The effect lasts several washes. We still can't give an exact number as it's still in the testing period, but it's definitely more than 10 washes," said a manager with the company.
Whether this new technology will catch on with the general public is yet to be seen, but for some who are self-conscious about their body odour, this is one way to help prevent the problem from becoming worse, at least on a short-term basis. Over the years, there have been scented T-Shirts and other clothing on the market, but these shirts relied on patches or scented stickers rather than creating scented fibres.
Depending on the preference of the wearer, scents such as coffee, orange, strawberry, and other fruit flavours will be available.
