Actress Sarah Jessica Parker, known mostly for her role as Carrie Bradshaw from the television series ‘Sex and the City’, recently unveiled her new clothing line ‘Bitten’, an affordable line that includes both causal and career wear for women. “I'm really cognisant of the fact that I wouldn't have these opportunities had I not spent a lot of time on a particular show. I wouldn't have been a success without all the women who watched,” said Parker. The clothing line, which features five hundred new pieces for the fall season, includes items such as T-Shirts, pants, shoes, sweaters, and accessories. The line will be sold throughout the US at Steve and Barry stores. The chain, which sells mostly T-Shirts and causal tops, wanted to expand their sales into the career wear market. They felt Parker would be a good fit because of her celebrity status and fashion sense.
After accepting the invitation, Parker spent time in one of their stores to get a better idea of the clientele and to see if she wanted to pursue development of the line.
When speaking about the affordability of her clothing line, Parker has said, “I have the financial means to buy trendy things like sweaters and great cords, but, as a mother, when I get up to take my son to school in the morning what I need are these clothes, good basic clothes.”
Offering a full range of sizes, Parker is able to design clothing for women of all sizes that have a need for both casual and career attire.
