Moss Brothers Opens Shop In Cardiff UK

Moss Brothers, who celebrated the opening of their new store in Cardiff, UK last week is among a steady stream of menswear retailers who are seeing a growing trend in upscale men’s fashions in the area. Other retailers including Primark and Topshop have also opened stores in recent months. Carrying high end labels like Calvin Klein and Ted Baker, these stores are hoping to attract buyers who want to look more sophisticated when going to work or when they out for the evening.

“There are not an awful lot of places [in Cardiff] that sell formal wear and good quality suits and with the way fashion has been going it tends to be very, very casual. There are so many places for men to get jeans, combats and T-Shirts so it’s good for them to have somewhere like this. Cardiff is coming on in leaps and bounds and the choice is getting wider and wider. They [fashion retailers] are recognising the very eclectic mix of people in Cardiff and the people wanting a choice. Men are taking more of an interest in their image. They are getting a lot of pressure from wives and girlfriends to look good,” said Wenda James-Rowe of The Style Team.

Moss Brothers has over one hundred and fifty stores and hopes despite low returns on winter clothing last season, they will be able to increase sales in the coming one.

“We see Cardiff as one of the most expanding cities there is. It is going to become a fantastic city and one of the best shopping cities in the UK when it is finished,” said Moss Brothers CEO, Philip Mountford.
