Designing T-shirts for 2008 Euro Soccer World Cup

Thursday 30th of August 2007 10:17:47 PM

Designing T-shirts for 2008 Euro Soccer World CupIndia based garment manufacturer, Santosh Garments, has been selected to print more than one million T-Shirts for the upcoming 2008 Euro Soccer World Cup, which will take place in Switzerland and Austria. This is a huge order for a company that has only been in the business for four years. ."We make polyester and cotton T-Shirts. Nearly, half a million pieces are now in my hand for the order, and I expect another order of half a million T-Shirts. I am proud of football matches (and I hope) to continue to receive orders for my company," said Santosh Garments Managing Director C. Udaya Shankar.

The T-Shirts, which are available in red, green, black, white, and navy blue, include the Euro Cup logo on the front and a list of stadiums where games will be played on the back.

Even though the company has only been in business for a short time compared to larger companies in India, they have been able to create a brand through their use of polyester and cotton to create T-Shirts. "So far, no one in Tirupur has done 100 per cent polyester. We have tried it and succeeded. It became a big advantage for us and the company has been noted in the world and particularly in the Europe market," said Santosh Garments Technical director Vinoth Kumar. German sportswear company, Adidas, recently gave their approval on the t-shirts.

Since 1985, garment manufacturers from the Tirupur region of India have been able to earn a steady profit in the garment industry.
