edun LIVE Sells 1 Million T-shirts

Monday 06th of August 2007 09:05:30 PM

edun LIVE Sells 1 Million T-shirtsedun LIVE, which is sells Blank T-Shirts to many different organisations including charities, schools, colleges, band promotion companies, cosmetic companies, and others, was started in 2005 by U2 frontman Bono and his wife Alison. The clothing line is an extension of a larger clothing label called EDUN.

Both were created to help those in the poorest countries of Africa manufacture clothing that could be sold to other countries under the African Growth and Opportunity Act. All materials used to make the T-Shirts can be found in the region and all profits are used to pay employees, maintain factories, and to stablise local economies. Because the line has been so successful, edun LIVE has been able to hire an additional eighty employees to work in their factories, train employees various manufacturing and management skills, and has been able to reinvest some of its profits into new machinery.

All T-Shirts produced under the edun LIVE label are made from 100% cotton that is grown by farmers living in Africa. Shirts are unisex and are available in a variety of sizes. Children's shirts are also available. As a way to reach even more consumers and others who want to help, edun LIVE has created edun LIVE on campus, where college students learn how to run a t-shirt business and sell shirts at local stores, campus bookstores, and online. This program not only helps increase distribution of edun products, it also helps young students learn how to become successful entrepreneurs.
