The response to Anvil Knitwear's new AnvilOrganic line of organic T-Shirts was better than the company expected, which is why they will be developing a line of women's and children's clothing in the future. Anvil Knitwear, whose shirts are distributed by Broder Brothers under three divisions, Alpha Short Company, Broder, and NES, uses only organic cotton which is grown without the use of harsh pesticides for this line. Dyes used to colour the shirts are also organic."We knew that the time was right for affordable organic tees. Still, the response to our organic T-Shirts has been overwhelmingly positive. We've been able to offer quality organic tees, in a variety of sizes and colors, while still maintaining a price point our competitors can't. We're confident the expansion to our organic line will flourish in today's increasingly environmentally responsible market," said Anvil CEO, Anthony Corsano.
The shirts are priced to be affordable for everyone who wants to buy environmentally friendly T-Shirts. In addition to producing shirts from organic cotton, Anvil Knitwear has long since endorsed recycling cardboard, generating steam power through the use of scrape metal, and cleaning waste water in their plants.
Boder Brothers is supportive of the line and sees a bright future for it and other organic lines of clothing. "Many of our customers are reporting that their customers are increasingly moving towards sustainable products. Big programs from key industry leaders are starting initiatives related to this. We only see the trend continuing," said Andrea L. Engel, Vice President of Merchandising for Broder Brothers Co.
