GAP Introduces Children's Wear That Benefits the RED Campaign

Friday 22nd of June 2007 08:42:25 PM

GAP Introduces Children's Wear That Benefits the RED CampaignGAP, one of the largest supporters of the RED campaign, which raises money by partnering with large retail and clothing manufacturers to help those in Africa who have been affected by the AIDS epidemic, announced its latest line of RED products for children and babies. The new line will feature T-Shirts and other clothing that have words on them that include the letters RED.

"Gap is proud to be a partner of (PRODUCT) RED and we're excited to introduce our first ever collection of (PRODUCT) RED clothes for kids and an extended collection of (PRODUCT) RED items for babies. Our new babyGap and GapKids (PRODUCT) RED clothes provide a unique opportunity for our customers to help make a real difference in the lives of mothers and children in Africa," said Pam Wallack, president of babyGap and GapKids.

Even though GAP introduced bodysuits for babies earlier this spring for the RED campaign, adding more outfits and separates will bring in more profits to the charity. Among the clothing options are pants,Sweatshirts, T-Shirts, and bodysuits.

Other companies including Apple, Emporium Armani, and Motorola have also joined the RED campaign along with GAP and other retailers. The campaign was started by U2 lead singer Bono and Bobby Shriver, the campaign has already raised over US$25 million. Contributions from the new baby GAP collection should increase profits so even more people can be helped through the Global Fund.
