Japanese casual clothing company UNIQLO, which has over 760 retail stores worldwide, has recently completed a UK website that makes ordering clothing much easier. By condensing ordering pages to one page, customers will be able to complete orders faster without having the hassle of filling out three or more pages. The concept of one page ordering is from Pod1, the web design firm that helped UNIQLO create and build its new website. "The single page checkout process is forecast to deliver conversion rates which are up to 50% higher than multiple page formats by reducing the number of abandoned baskets. This will in turn lead to a much better ROI for the client," said Fadi Shuman, Co-founder of Pod1.The new website features many of UNIQLO's most popular clothing and new styles. It also features a special section called 'The UT Collection', which includes over 1000 designs for T-Shirts. Some of the famous artists, photographers, and musicians have contributed to the designs include Nobuyoshi Araki, Solve Sundsbo, Terry Richardson, and Alison Mosshart.
Other features of the new website include the 'extra fine zoom function', which allows customers to get a better look at the fabrics uses in creating T-Shirts and Polo Shirts. The company hopes this function will help reduce the number of returns it receives by giving people a better idea of the kinds of products they will receive. The 'quick buy' function allows shoppers to place items in their cart without having to leave the product pages. This should encourage people to buy more merchandise before placing an order.
UNIQLO, which is known for its unique T-Shirts, has taken a giant step in the retail market by creating a website in the UK. The popularity of the brand should generate plenty of interest.
