The Who, UK's legendary rock group, has teamed up with Lambretta to design two lines of clothing inspired by outfits worn by the band. The Tribute Collection and The Iconic Collection each have distinct pieces of clothing including T-Shirts, jeans, jackets, and accessories. The Iconic Collection includes pieces such as Pete Townsend's Union Flag Blazer, T-Shirts worn by Keith Moon, and other shirts with matching ties. Nineteen styles in all will be featured in this collection. What makes The Iconic Collection different from The Tribute Collection is the limited run in order to increase sales and promote the merchandise quickly.
The Tribute Collection will feature more pieces that were inspired by The Who, but not necessarily worn by the band. Graphics, fabrics, and pieces that can be worn separately or together will be sold in this collection. T-Shirts, sweatshirts, and pants are all included in this sixteen piece collection. In addition to graphics and fabrics, embroidery, logos, and other accents have been used to recreate original clothing. This clothing line is not a limited run and includes clothing that is more casual, but still represents The Who.
The Who played an integral role in the design of the clothing. They will be autographing fishtail parkas that appeared on the band's Quadrophenia album that will be auctioned off as a way to promote the new line.
Both collections will debut in Lambretta's fall line.
