Since the growing popularity of independent online t-shirt stores, more people want to learn the screen printing business. Even online distribution companies will print and sell T-Shirts to those who place orders, many t-shirt artists don't want to pay commission and distribution fees and want to learn the trade for themselves.FESPA, a non-profit organisation that promotes the use of screen printing and digital printing technologies through events and conferences, designed an elearning programme that is based on a course offered by the UK Digital and Screen Printing Association, which was created in part by PDS Consulting.
The elearning programme is made up of 16 lessons that include video, graphics, and instructions that teach people the techniques of screen printing, using and maintaining printing machines, and more. Available in English, Italian, Polish, German, Portuguese, Spanish, Finnish, and Norwegian, FESPA's goal is to teach as many people as possible the screen printing and digital printing processes.
"We are thrilled to be able to offer the FESPA e-Learning Programme to an even greater number of printers in Europe. We see this as an important step in the progression of the e-Learning Programme and in achieving our aim to address the growing knowledge deficit in the screen printing industry. We feel that the importance of affordable educational tools cannot be underestimated and we fully believe that it will be as successful in these countries as it has been previously," said FESPA projects manager, Chris Smith.
The courses are designed for printers at various levels by challenging what they already know and giving them advice and new information about the latest technologies. "The FESPA course is invaluable not only because it teaches best-practice for everyday operations and how to achieve the best possible results, but also because it teaches you how to operate as efficiently as possible, giving you the best of chance of running a successful business," said a 26-year veteran in the printing business.
