Mindworks, a US-based educational video production company, recently won a Telly Award for producing the instrucitonal video, ‘The Art of Sweater Manufacturing’. The video can be used in a variety of ways within the textiles industry as it documents the process of sweatermaking using 3D animation and actual footage from Sweater
manufacturing plants. It was created as part of a series for Cotton Incorporated, a reasearch and marketing firm supported by US cotton growers and Importers Support Program of the Cotton Board, whose goal is to provide training and education for cotton growers all over the world.“Cotton Incorporated always gives us the creative freedom to develop programs that are engaging and educational. We’re thrilled that this Cotton project is being recognized by the Telly Awards.” said Greg Rowland, MindWorks founder. Mindworks was one of 13,000 entries submitted world-wide.
“This educational CD program was developed to provide the first of its kind interactive sessions on various topics regarding yarn, fabric or finishing techniques. We introduced this program four years ago and had no idea it would be such a huge success. Classes are always filled to capacity, individual and company purchases continue, and many companies stock this series in their company’s educational library. We now offer eight different educational guides that cover all aspects of manufacturing and finishing. The experts at Cotton Incorporated with the experts at MindWorks Multimedia produced a high quality, vital educational tool for the industry,” said Senior Director, Account Management for Cotton Incorporated, Dennis Horstman.
The Telly Awards, which honour instructional and educational video, commericals, and telelvision programming, was created in 1978.
