Electronic Arts, who runs the popular online causal gaming site Pogo.com, and television personality and philanthropist Rosie O’Donnell have decided to raise money together for her charity the ‘For All Kids’ Foundation. Players will be able to win chances to play ‘Tumble Bees’, one of the many games on Pogo.com with Rosie and can purchase merchandise such as T-Shirts, hats, and other items to benefit the foundation. Electronic Arts is hoping to raise US $30,000 for the foundation.O’Donnell says she is no stranger to Pogo.com. "I played a lot of videogames as a kid and now I am an avid Club Pogo member and have been for quite awhile. I play Word Whomp, Tumble Bees, Poppit! Squelchies, Qwerty, and World Class Solitaire -- I like to mix it up. I'm online almost every night! It is a great way to relax and stay in touch with people out of state. There is a grandmother in Kansas that I play with ... she has no idea who I am. We talk for hours about her grandkids and her latest projects. I love it!"
Helping as many children as possible has been the goal of O’Donnell’s foundation since she started it in 1997. From building day-care centres in low-income areas throughout the US, the foundation also give money to children’s hospitals, education programs, and after school day care programs. Partnering with Electronic Arts and selling T-Shirts and other items on Pogo.com will help greatly and allow the foundation to continue helping children in need.
