Coffee T-shirts for Free, But Difficult to Get

Friday 23rd of February 2007 11:55:25 PM

Coffee T-shirts for Free, But Difficult to GetFor those who wanted to sign up for a free t-shirt from Starbucks, many may have to wait longer than they thought. Even though the printed t-shirts are free, the company is only giving away a certain amount away each day. With so many people that want them, it is easy to see why the shirts are difficult to come by.

The T-Shirts, designed by ‘Project Runway’ finalist Mychael Knight, depict a coffee mug with different coffees on them that people can choose themselves when placing their order. But not everyone is happy with the t-shirt and the types of coffee that can be written on the shirt. According to one blog, Starbucksgossip.com, many people are upset that their favourite flavours are not represented. “It's completely ugly and they don't have coconut syrup,” wrote one Starbucks coffee drinker who has been trying to get a shirt nonetheless.

As to how many T-Shirts will be given away remains a mystery even though Brandon Borrman, a spokesman for the company said there are about 10,000 shirts available to those who place orders on the web site. Some on the blog speculate that over 200,000 will be given away. As to the amount of publicity the shirts have been receiving, Borrman said, “We're thrilled that there's this much interest in the campaign."

People who want to own a Starbucks t-shirt can still sign up on the company’s web site, but only during certain times during the day. People can sign up anytime after 10am pacific time. Shirts usually sell out within minutes of the web site accepting orders. The T-Shirts will be available until they are sold out, which may be sooner than most people would like.
