Hoodie Sweat Shirts Are Here to Stay

Hoodie sweat shirts look a lot like other sweat shirts except that they have a hood attached that protects the head from rain, snow, and other weather elements. Many people own one or more hoodies, and they have been a fashion statement for more than thirty years.

Since the sweat shirt is turning fifty this year, a retrospective of sorts has begun. Today, most people, from children to the elderly own sweat shirts. Once a college kid’s staple,Sweatshirts with and without hoods are worn for comfort and because they are affordable.

Hoodies and other types of Sweatshirts can be found in discount stores and high end stores. Some are trendier than others because they are embellished with beads or striped fabric. Famous people wear them all the time, which has caused others to follow.

According to Brenda Thomas, who has worked in the fashion industry for about thirty years, claims ‘she can’t remember a time when hoodies weren’t around.’ Of hoodies, she said, “First they were Sweatshirts for college days and then went far beyond that. Hoodies always have a purpose, whether its high fashion or when they’re needed.”

In recent years, hoodies have gone from protective outer wear to social wear. Seen by many at parties, movie premieres, and other events, celebrities have begun wearing hoodies for many occasions. This has caused the public to do the same.

Hoodies are available in many different colours, fabrics, and textures. They can be worn with jeans, slacks, dresses, and skirts. They are the perfect light jacket for spring and fall and can be used when travelling or when enjoying any outdoor activity.

The Sweatshirts has proven itself over the years and the hoodie is no exception. Expect to see this comfort trend continuing into coming fashion seasons.
