University Baseball Player Starts T-Shirt Design Business

The University of Wisconsin college baseball player Jason Chapell is starting a fashion line during his spare time. He loves drawing and is knowledgeable in the world of silkscreen printing so decided to use this knowledge to create a collection of T-Shirts. His nickname is J-Cheezy, and he has named his collection after this. He creates the shirts out of his parent’s sports goods store, Chappell Sports. Many of his friends as well as himself wear the J-Cheezy gear too. Last year Chapell created a basketball T-Shirt that featured a basketball with a crown on top of it and this was a great hit with his friends on the team. Chapell says, "I like drawing and I just wanted to draw designs and stuff like that. In a lot of my classes instead of taking notes, I'm there doodling some designs."

Jason Chapell has been making T-Shirts for his friends every since he was at the New Berlin High School. These T-Shirts only had his parents store name printed on them but once he started his freshman year at the University of Wisconsin he decided to print T-Shirts with his own designs on them. He said, "When you can make them, why buy them?" Jason first started creating shirts that had simple prints on them and then progressed to embroidered designs. He currently has around seven to eight different designs that he has on his shirts and these can be ordered in a variety of different colours. He has recently also started adding these designs onto Polo Shirts . Most of his apparel are made with his logo on them as well as a catchphrase like "It ain't easy bein' Cheezy."
